Abstract work with layered windows of batiks in deep green, blue, bronze tones. Bring the lush rich colors of the rain forest into your space.
In this work I’ve created three windows layered with graceful slightly curving lines of silk adjacent to them. The repetition of lines and layering of circles create depth and move one’s eye across the surface of the the work. Circles of silk organza are appliqued to the surface and circles are also used in the quilted stitching design of the work.
The hand dyed nature of the fabric creates subtle changes in color throughout the work. Deep shades of teal and green play across the lush hand dyed background. The window sections feature a batik fabrics of turquoise, burgundy, and bronze, each framed with bronze silk and dark green hand dyed cotton fabric.
