Art Quilt – Winter Glow will warm your heart and your space.
In this art quilt the viewer is gazing through windows toward a woodland scene with the glow of sunset radiating through bare winter trees. The shadowed deep eggplant and grey hand dyed background creates an interior space. Circles and slightly curving lines in the quilting add a restful flow for the eye to move across the surface of the the work.
The hand painted nature of the purple, rose and yellow gold textured fabric within the windows creates a strong contrast to the dark grey of the tree silhouettes. These windows call to the viewer to venture out and experience the beauty of the evening glow.
Rich bronze and copper colored silk brocade adds to the texture in two smaller rectangles and added texture is found in the couched yarns of the long flowing lines on the top, right and left sides of the quilt.
Hand dyed cotton, silk, painted silk and non woven materials.
There is a hanging sleeve on the back.
