This was inspired by a photo taken by my husband on one of his early morning bike rides along Kelly Drive when he was heading home.

This is a small art quilt, 16" x 12", created with fused applique of hand dyed cottons and batik fabrics. Detailing is done with black Staedler Pen and the work is quilted with polyester thread. It is mounted on black painted stretched canvas and screwed into a floater frame. I like to use colorful batiks for the leaves to create a playful version of reality.
