I have often admired this handsome building, located at 1830 Rittenhouse, from Rittenhouse Square park while sitting and having my afternoon coffee.

I discovered that this property was an ice cream saloon, an illegal horse stable, then bought by Thomas Alexander Scott, president of Pennsylvania Railroad.  He built a home designed by Frank Furness in 1875.  That was demolished in 1913 to build the current building which was the first residential high rise on the square.

This was created with fused, stitched cotton and detailing was done with Micron pen.  This work is mounted on black painted stretched canvas.  It is framed in a float frmae and  is ready to hang.

Shipping is free in the contiguous US.

This piece is currently on exhibit at the Cosmopolitan Club through Nov. 2, 2023
